Our Program is About Creativity, Passion, and Professionalism

The cosmetology and hairstyling program is a comprehensive, 1200-hour course that can be completed in as few as ten months. It is available to full-time and part-time students, with options for day or evening classes. Total Image Beauty Academy offers this course in both English and Spanish.

During the first half of the program, students spend most of their time in the classroom, learning from lectures and demonstrations, and practicing new skills on mannequins. Instructors take the time to carefully evaluate each student’s work and help them reach their personal goals. During the second half of the program, students can work in the student clinic, providing services to clients from the community. All student work in the clinic is completed under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor. The remaining time during the second half of the program is spent on practical work, advancement lectures, class projects, subject reviews, and salon management techniques.

We work closely with local salons, inviting salon owners and guest artists to give presentations, introducing real-world skills to our students. This is a key part of our job placement services. Students can get to know local salon owners who may want to hire them once they have completed the program.

Flexible Schedules

Our full-time and part-time schedule options make it easier to fit a cosmetology education into your life. Choose the schedule that works for you!

  • Full-time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm, for a total of 30 hours a week
  • Part-time day: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, for a total of 20 hours per week
  • Part-time evening: Monday –Thursday, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, for a total of 16 hours a week

Classes begin on the first Monday of every month unless otherwise scheduled. You can begin the enrollment process whenever you are ready!

How much does the program cost?

Tuition for the program is $16,488. Books and kit cost $1,548. Uniforms cost $100. There is also a $100 registration fee. Total cost is $18,236.

Is financial aid available?

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Begin the financial aid process by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). If you have questions, feel free to contact us.

Can I go to school while I work?

We offer many schedule options, including part-time day and part-time evening options. This makes it possible for more students to fit a cosmetology education into their busy lives.

Do you use state-approved curriculum?

Yes, our curriculum covers 1200 hours to satisfy New Jersey state requirements. Successful completion of the course qualifies you to sit for the State Exam.

What do you do to help students find employment after graduation?

We train students in the business skills they may need as professionals, including how to prepare for a job and where to look for employment in their chosen fields. We maintain a list of current job openings that are available exclusively to our students, graduates, and alumni. Although we cannot guarantee placement, reasonable efforts are made to help students get a job. We collaborate with local salons, inviting salon owners and guest artists to speak and give seminars to students. This gives students a chance to network and find local employment.
