At Total Image Beauty Academy, we are not a franchise school. We are a beauty school in Union City, New Jersey, with a unique focus on students with a Latin background. We have classes in English, Spanish, and some that are available in both languages. Our programs are designed to prepare you for a successful future in a beauty career, whether you choose to be a cosmetologist, hairstylist, skin care specialist, manicurist, hair braider, or beauty school instructor.
We know that beauty professionals are always doing things with their hands, and that is one reason why we ensure our students receive plenty of hands-on experience in the classroom and in our student clinic, where students can provide services to actual clients under the direct supervision of licensed instructors.
We also know that our students need to learn key skills and theory to obtain their professional license. Our programs prepare students to sit for the State Exam, so they can go on to obtain their license and pursue a career in their chosen field.
Our school is conveniently located near bus stops that take you to and from Journal Square (PATH Station) and the New York City Port Authority. Contemporary in décor, the school covers over 8,700 sq. ft. and includes a modern reception area, administration offices, student lounge, library, classrooms, and clinic floor.

Yes, we offer full-time and part-time schedules for most of our programs. Our part-time options include day hours and evening hours.
We provide an education that prepares students for the exam they will need to take to obtain their professional license. We also teach skills they will need to know in their future careers. Our students can practice their skills in the student clinic under the direct supervision of licensed instructors. The kits students receive contain products and tools that are used in real salons and spas, and we teach students how to use these tools and other equipment that they may need to use in their future careers.
The cost of our beauty programs is competitively priced compared to other schools in the area. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. We also offer payment plan options to help you make your education more affordable.
The Total Image Beauty Academy programs include employment skills, training, and counseling to help students with writing resumes and preparing for job interviews. Students are instructed on how to obtain and maintain gainful employment in their chosen fields. We maintain a book of current job openings that are available exclusively to our students, graduates, and alumni. Although the school cannot guarantee placement, all reasonable efforts will be made to help each student. We maintain a network of relationships with local salons, and we invite salon owners and guest artists to speak and give seminars. We post all available job openings on our student bulletin board. Job referrals are made known to interested graduates as available.

I graduated from this amazing school Nov 2022, the staff is so wonderful that they donated over 200 beauty supplies for my summer program. I can't find the words to describe how grateful I am to them. To Micheal, Mrs. Jimenez, Mrs. Perez, Mrs. E, Tania, I really appreciate yall for teaching me so I can teach others. If you looking for a beauty school, this is definitely the best one....hands down
I had an amazing experience at Total Image Beauty Academy. Mr. Mike, Irene,, Sylvia, & Tania were all very helpful to me during my time there. All the girls i’ve met in the school were all so sweet & made the environment feel more comfortable/ welcoming. I definitely enjoyed being a senior & taking clients with the help of two of the best teachers ( Miss Gomez & Miss Jimenez😊) They assist the students with their clients & prepare them for what it’s going to be like when they graduate & work in salons, I just recently graduated from the school & i can honestly say, I really enjoyed my time there. If you’re struggling to find a good school to get your license i would definitely recommend this one!!
I recently graduated at Total Image and I can say I enjoyed and learned a lot during my time there. The environment is very welcoming in this school, and my teachers were always really supportive towards me. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in the program.
